Winter Update

Heavenhi everyone!!! Winter is very much here at Hiranyagarbha Yuga Ashram.

After our very successful Fall Tree Planting, we finished out the year by scattering for Winter break, and Lagan moved to Dallas to begin his graduate program in marketing.

Once the new year struck, we were hit with a few inches of snow and ice, and several days without temperatures above freezing. This meant that Bhati, Devan, Cesar, and Ayana were holed up at the ashram for a second winter break. (Saucha and Gudu were still on vacation).

When temperatures are below freezing, none of our plumbing works, meaning we can’t shower, wash our hands, or do dishes, although thankfully, we are able to get cold water from spigots. However, we still maintained as much daily stewardship as we could. To do dishes, we began and maintained a discipline of boiling a pot of water during every meal, to be used to do the dishes. For showers, we were occasionally able to get to the YMCA using Ayana’s Subaru, once some of the snow melted, or else used wash clothes, basins and then dried ourselves with towels.

We also continually strategized together to get everyone’s laundry done when we could, get groceries whenever someone was in town, and take care of Zavi the dog and Seva the kitty together. We are a Divine family at Hiranyagarbha Yuga Ashram, and therefore we look after each other and make sure everyone’s needs are met.

We were able to spend a lot of time enjoying the warmth of the Ajna cabin, being cozy, reading books, playing games, and watching movies. We also enjoyed sledding and walking around the frozen pond.

Saucha and Gudu arrived back here on the 13th, and we have all been back to work. This last week, the temperature warmed up a bit, and, due to several tinkerings with our water heaters, we are able to again have hot water.

Jnanda’s house is being steadily wrapped up, and he will be able to move out here eventually.

Thank you all for continuing to support the work we do at Hiranyagarbha Yuga Ashram by donating through our website: hyalife.org .

“Soul evolution is restructuring one’s entire life, thoughts, words, and actions, to be centered on and always reflecting God, Divine Love, and its many facets. Soul evolution is a beautiful blossoming of a flower (us), or the brightening of a star, illuminating everything around it, bathing darkness in Light.”
