August Update
Our Satguru Jnanda has finally moved to Hiranyagarbha Yuga Ashram! This has been our biggest goal since we started in the summer of 2020 and we could not be happier that we accomplished it. Jnanda is currently taking time to settle in and set his house up.
Jnanda's house was in the making for three years. During that time many have anticipated his move. Saucha, our ashram co-founder, four-year resident, and building manager, deserves the most credit for accomplishing this task. Using self-taught building knowledge and a rotating crew of his company’s employees, ashram volunteers, and contractors, Saucha steadily made progress on the house. Ashram co-founder Devaaya also did a lot of work with electrical and other construction aspects to get the house in shape. Everyone who has spent time on the ashram has contributed in some respect to this large project, and we are thankful to all of them.
On July 30th Jnanda landed in Roanoke. Hridaya, another student of our college, accompanied him. When he arrived, all of the students here wanted to know if they could come up and see him. From his window Jnanda waved us up. It was shocking and delightful to finally see him on the land and we all exchanged hugs and smiles. For a few students, it was their first time meeting Jnanda in the physical and for others it was a warm welcome home. The night concluded with a house tour: entryway, kitchen, dining and living room area, bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry space, and office. A celebration dinner is to be had in honor of his arrival.
Through training and application, Jnanda has developed a Divine Loving Centrist Pragmatic demeanor and a large heart flame. He uses this to be of service to others. Now that Jnanda is at HYA, more classes and student appointments will occur with him being physically present to aid students and new-comers with building Love-based momentums. Let us continue to build Bhakti, Karma, Jnana, and Raja Yoga momentums together with our Satguru.
In other news, summer is winding down at HYA. In just one week, our summer season will be over. This means that most people will resume school or their jobs and there will be less work happening on the ground. However, we will still do what we can with all of our ongoing projects.
During the last month, the main projects have been the landscaping around Jnanda's house, which is ongoing, and continued construction of Saucha and Gudu's house. As always, there are lots of smaller tasks to be done, such as firewood collection, the building of a chicken coop, making meals, getting groceries in Roanoke, and doing laundry, among many other things.
During the last few weeks, we have welcomed a few returning volunteers/students of Jnanda and new volunteers who are going through the starter course. In addition, a few people have stopped by for an afternoon to experience a drop of the ocean that is soul evolution by receiving one class.
Also, congratulations to Adhii Bhoda Bala Ananda (formerly Benji) for receiving his spiritual name. It means: Adhii – turn mind towards / Bhoda – Spiritual Wisdom, Knowledge, Intelligence / Bala – Power, Force, Strength / Ananda - Bliss. Adhii and Devaaya accomplished a big task when they flew to California to drive all of Jnanda's possessions over in a U Haul. We are thankful for them.
We finally have HYA T- shirts! Pictured above is the first batch of them. The quote on the back is: "Freedom springs from Truth, Wisdom springs from Love of Truth, and Selflessness springs from sacrifice to know Truth." - Satguruyogiprabhu.
