Bhati Vimokhana Ananda
Heaven hi. My name is Bhati Vimokhana Ananda. I am a servant of the Divine, currently working as a Public High School Art Teacher at Franklin County High School, in Rocky Mount, VA. I have been working on this path of spiritual growth and soul evolution since February 2018, when I was 18 years old. It began when I met Saucha at The Claremont Colleges and participated in his meditation club. I became a student of Satguruyogiprabhu Jnanda Moksha Brahmananda in April of that year, and became very fervent and one-pointed towards this goal in September 2018. This training has impacted and shaped every aspect of my life, and it has brought more light to everything that I do. My aim in my life is to be of service in whatever way the Divine asks me to, and everything that I do I dedicate to that end.
I have been involved with Hiranyagarbha Yuga Ashram casually since Saucha Atma Ananda and Devaaya Avirodha Ananda first envisioned it in our home in Los Angeles, and I have been more seriously involved since the summer of 2020, when I spent 5 months living and working there. I moved onto the ashram permanently in April 2021, along with my wonderful dog Zavaka.
I am a bit of a jack of all trades in terms of my on-the-ground roles and responsibilities. In the summer of 2021 I was the ashram's Head Chef, and became an advisor to the board. I also made the ashram's flag and logo. In 2022 and 2023, I worked primarily on the building team, and in 2023, and became one half of our Silvopasture and Agroforestry team, with Sama. I focus on implementation of plans, while Sama focuses on planning, which makes me the primary bushhog mower for the field. I am also the Assistant Grounds Manager, and in that role, assist Gudu (the Grounds Manager) in scheduling our work, increasing stewardship, and managing new volunteers. As the Creative Director, I am in charge of any art that goes up around the ashram in public spaces, such as murals and signs. I also help run the HYA website, Facebook page, and Instagram page.
Since I was a small child, the notion of a self-sustaining community has been something that appealed to me and spoke to my spiritual self, to my sense of dharma. I see myself building a house at Hiranyagarbha Yuga Ashram, raising children and living the rest of my life here, all while training and teaching young students. Every time I apply my labor to our work projects here, it fills me with Love because it works towards that goal.
